I seem to recall that in the film AIRPLANE the autopilot was called: "OTTO"

At the end of the film "Otto Pilot" appears as a blow-up doll, in pilot's uniform, who pops up in the left hand seat & then flies the aircraft away, as the titles roll.

But no problem as Julie Hagerty does a decent blow-job.

Call me a pedant (no, do, really!!!), but in Airplane, our inflatable friend sat in the right seat, not the left, though he did wear four bars... As for the action taken in re-inflating him, I can assure you it does work... (Memories, memories, an AA-5 somewhere over the Midlands a dozen years ago, and the girl I loved...)

.... AIRPLANE..... Yes, I think you are correct about Otto Pilot, right hand seat etc ....

And I do remember the reinflation bit ..... I was just being too girlie & polite to mention it!

Now that there will be non-stop Olympics on the tellie for the next 3 weeks, I must dig out the video of AIRPLANE & other daft aviation movies, for a few evenings of nostalgia.

Hi d_b
Welcome back - I've missed you!
