Today's Pilot Fly-In

The staff at Today's Pilot magazine would like to invite all PPRuNers to their 2004 fly-in. The non-profit event takes place on June 13 and aims to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Awareness charity.

The fly-in is combined with the Gathering of US Classics and takes place at Nottingham Tollerton airport. All types of aircraft are welcome, including helicopters, jets and microlights and we hope to attract a gathering of Beech King Airs to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the type.

Landings are FREE, however pilots are being encouraged to make a donation to the charity box instead. Visiting Instructions are as follows:

Nottingham Tollerton Airport N5255.20 W00104.75
Nottingham Radio 122.80
NDB 'NOT' 433.0 (on A/D)
Two Hard Runways PLUS Grass Available
Fuel: 100LL and Jet A1 available

For additional airfield information call 0115 9811327 (tower) or 0115 9815050 (admin) or refer to a current VFR Flight Guide. Airfield open 10.00am - 7.00pm (local). No need to PPR but please call ahead for an on-the-day airfield briefing.

Will Flanagan, Tollerton's airport manager, is arranging a party at the airfield on the Saturday evening, and although the fly-in will only take place on Sunday visiting pilots are welcome to arrive late on Saturday, attend the party and camp overnight with their aircraft. Tickets costs £6 to cover the cost of the band. If you plan to attend please contact Will on 0115 9815050 so they can cater for the correct number.

There is plenty to do in the area, and the airport is just a three-mile taxi ride from Nottingham City Centre. There are also superb facilities on site on the day - including a restaurant.

For more information please feel free to contact me at the Today's Pilot magazine office on 01780 755131 or e-mail [email protected]

Apologies to all and thanks to Chilli for picking the mistake up so quickly! I guess that's what happens when you're trying to do too many things at once. Anyway, the message should actually have read;-
