Calling all owners McMurdo Fastfind Plus GPS PLBs

There appear to be serious problems with the transmission of GPS position from these beacons. See:

http://www.equipped.com/406_beacon_t...ry.htm#Summary

and

http://www.mcmurdo.co.uk/?Menu=79&Pa...es.asp&Cat=133

Then contact Kevin Robertson at McMurdo in Portsmouth.

http://www.sartech.co.uk/ is a start. I have the

SERPE-IESM Kannad 406m

although that one doesn't have a GPS.

Thanks, that's very helpful (although the link is broken at present: presumably a problem with the sartech site).

That's great, thanks, I think I'll buy one, which I can combine with a cheapo handheld hiking GPS which gives lat and long. Yacht chandlers, by the way, selll good waterproof holders for mobile phones and mini GPS, with lanyards to attach them to yourself. I know that they work as I have worn one whilst sailing a dinghy, with the occasional capsize.
