Any experience of flight schools in Charlotte NC?
Hi
I may be seconded to the US for a few months and wondered if any PPruners had experience or contacts around the Charlotte NC area?
I have done 6 hours into my PPL and I would like to continue over the summer, as we've been 'weathered' off several times in the Isle of Man.
Are there any schools in the Charlotte area that could offer multiple hours over weekends?
Advice on any special Visas etc would be useful too.
Cheers

12 years ago I did my FAA PPL at McClure Aviation, Lincoln County Airport, Lincolnton, NC, about 20 miles outside Charlotte. They were great, so if they're still going give them a bell!

I'm currently working on my PPL at Long Aviation (should be done in the next few weeks!). The instructors are good and the planes seem well cared for. I've been very happy here.
I've also heard good things about www.flycarolina.com (though I suspect you'll spend a lot more money there).
One place to avoid would be Wilgrove Air Park. I trained there before moving to Long Aviation and left due to bad instructors and poorly maintained aircraft.
Best of luck to you!
Cheers,
Steve
