Smile Where to revalidate?

Hi, it has got to the time when I need to revalidate my PPL through exam, and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions where is best to do this. I do not wish to join a club as such as I have no idea where I will be in 3 months time,so somewhere that offers temporary memberships for a realistic price would be ideal, as would somewhere that offers pa28's or 150/152's. Also somewhere out of controlled airspace and without complex circuit procedures would be splendid, as I am trying to de-kerfuffle my life and that includes flying and don't wish to do loads of flights just getting used to procedure. If anyone knows of such a place in the north or midlands I would be most grateful to hear from them,
Cheers,
Beet.

Hi there.
It may be a little to far south for you but I can recommend Bourne in Cambridgeshire.
Other than location it fits all that you asked and they are a friendly helpful bunch.
I popped in to see them one day and 20 mins later I was in the air being checked out.
They operate 152s and as long as you fly north you are clear of any controlled airspace.
I dont have the number to hand but if your are interested, PM me and i will dig it out for you.
Good luck wherever you choose.

Not sure where abouts in the country you are, Beethoven, but if you're somewhere in the Northern part of the UK, you couldn't do much better than Prestwick Flying Club. They offer low-cost temporary membership, PA28s and extremely good instructors. They are also one of the last of a dying breed of not-for profit non-commercial members' clubs, so the flying rates are about the lowest you can find. I know that Prestwick now has a control zone, but the procedures are extremely simple and the volume of traffic is low. It would help you build up your confidence with ATC whilst allowing you to concentrate on your flying. A very good compromise!

Have a look at www.prestwickflyingclub.co.uk

If uk midlands, you could try wellesbourne, worth a visit if you can get round birmingham if from the north. There are a number of options, all with temp/3month membership.
