Erm, I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but . . .
There was a fast pointy aircraft that stopped flying a few months back. Can't recall the name but understand it was quite popular.

Sorry HornetMoth but you have either been drinking too much Somerset Cider or you need to get to SpecSavers.
Four of the a/c you mention are NOT eyecandy, more like scaffolding with skin.
Where's the Luscombe.............?
Where's the Folland Gnat............?
Where's the DR400...............?
Where's the Staggerwing.............?
Where's the TBM700.............?
Where's the Ovation............?
I know it's a list of your faves, but I'd hate to see your wife!!!

That's easy!
(1) Sopwith Pup;
(2) Sea Fury;
(3) North American Sabre;
(4) Avro Arrow;
(5) Avro Vulcan;
(6) Avro Jetliner;
(7) De Havilland Comet.
Next question?

If it flies, it's a thing of beauty and a joy forever (or until it corrodes).
Even the C150 has a certain charm, albeit not as obvious as some.
The F104 Starfighter was kinda sexy.

Anyone seen Neville Duke's record breaking Hunter at Tangmere? Jets don't really turn me on .... but that aeroplane is truly beautiful. Many of the DH designs fall into the same category of sleek lines and sexy contours ... Mosquito, Comet ect ect.
That said I quite like ugly aeroplanes too!
