I think anything you fly for long enough you fall in love with except the Piper Tomahawk (should dig a big hole and push them all in)
....but the best looking aircraft have to be........
P51D Mustang
Boeing 707

Have to agree with SSD and EVO that the Spitfire and Concorde have to be at the top of the list. As for the ugliest, I seem to remember a Blackburn design from the 20's or 30' which would have to a contender

Skydriller, AfricanEagle,
You two are having a laugh aren't you!
The body is pretty, but it still looks wrong.

1958 Vanwall, with wire wheels at the front and 'wobbly-web' alloys at the back - as preferred by Stirling Moss...
Oh dear, wrong thread. (Well, I'll only raise a laugh when I say Fokker DVII - but what an aeroplane).

Sorry but if we are sticking to the threads question how can you beat this?
http://www.skyhawkphotos.co.nz/Milit...0...WB-188.jpg
If the thread asked for favourite aeroplane then fair do's ... but beautiful? Surely there are but a handful that truly make all flyers sigh like smitten teenagers? ... Concorde, Spitfire, Mosquito, Hunter and a few others have that mix of curves and symmetry that make them really beautiful. Liken it to women, some are universally accepted as beautiful whilst others are beautiful in the eye of their particular beholder. Attractive? well that's different, and like women, it then becomes more than just looks ... In this class it has to be a Hurricane

Call me sad if you wish but my honest answer to this is that whatever aircraft I am doing a pre-flight check on is the most beautiful aircraft in the world. However, when I am not doing a pre-flight and just observing, Concorde is the mutts nuts. I even felt a lump in my throat watching those last landings.
However, if I'm doing a pre-flight on a Cessna 150 or whatever, Concorde could fly by at Mach 2, missing my arse by inches and I would'nt give two figs.

Personaly I don't see how you can include something as humdrum as any Cessna in a most beautiful list of aircraft, As quoted by many, Spitfire, Mossie, Comet Racer, Concord.
These would probably also come pretty close to the top on best handling as well, which in MHOP is what counts to a real pilot!
