JAR/FAA PPL in US

Been checking through the threads for info. on PPL training in the US. Some questions remain. Any help would be good.

1. What are the pros and cons of doing the FAA PPL in the US compared to the JAR PPL in the US (Price of conversion back in UK etc/restrictions)

2. Most likely will try and get some of the written/ground exams done before I depart for US. How do I go about this.

I have been whittling down the list of US trainers and I was fairly keen on Debenair in Florida, but am worried about the fact of only getting the FAA PPL??. I am right to be??.

Thanks in advance.
