Southend

I had a letter yesterday from Southend council saying that the planning permission for the extension to the runway at Southend had been refused and was going to appeal. I remember someone on this forum was trying to organise a bit of a lobby... what's the latest is our supoort still required ?

Yes and Yes.
Suggest just a quick letter back to the council saying you still support the application/appeal.

From what I heard, long ago, it almost had to be refused and sent for appeal.

There is a lot of politicking and gamesmanship going on. Appropriate and sensible letters to the council (or to the appeal coordinator) could be useful.

I have to be careful - I have a vested interest in both sides of the argument :-(

Planning appeals

Funny how when John Prescott overturns a planning decision on appeal it's always "an appalling interference in local democracy" ... except when one actually agrees with the proposal.
