Thai Lessons

I've been living in Thailand for a year and expect to be here for another 2-3 years at least. I've flown a lot as SLF over the past 5 years and its given me an appetitie to see if I could get a private pilots license and do some flying of my own.

I am considering applying to the Thai Flying club just north of Pattaya to undertake my training and was wondering if anyone has experienced their training or knows anyone who can give me the lowdown. They appear very organised and professional from the website www.thaiflyingclub.com and the estimated cost of the 40-60 hour private pilots flying course is US$4,000 to US$5,000. They do a 30 minute "introduction" flight for US$50 which I guess would be a good starting point.

I would also be interested in links to websites where I can find out information on the cost of buying and maintaining private aircraft. I'm a total novice in terms of private aviation so I won't be offended if you teach me to suck eggs!!!

Thanks
