Sherlowe fly in.

Sherlowe charity fly in and BBQ is on Sat 13th Sept, 8 till 8, in aid of Hope House Childrens Respite Hospice. All are welcome, (680m grass) If the weather is unsuitable it will be on Sunday 14th Sept. For those of you that might not have heard of Sherlowe, it's a private grass strip on the edge of the Shawbury MATZ. PPR for this occasion is not required, there will be a recorded mini atis on the day with all the information required. The strip is in Pooleys, but not on the chart. Any further information required just post or e-mail or PM.

I flew in there again today in the lovely red Chippy. What a super place!

Chippy booked for 13/14 Sept. Fingers crossed for good weather and a serviceable aeroplane.

SL's radio has failed. I'll be flying in non-radio, canopy open, ear plugs in (just like the old days!).

I have to leave by 13:00 'cause the next guy has SL booked at 14:00. I might persuade him to take me back to Sherlowe to re-visit!

What a super day! I did as I said in my last post - it's quite nice to go non-radio once in a while.

And the guy who had SL booked after me wanted to go as well, but didn't know where Sherlowe is - so I got to visit twice!

Good to meet maggioneato, Mr Wendy, Poet, Mrs Poet, Stik, and many others at this delightful spot. I wonder where Bob orders his weather from?

Good to meet up with you all, SSD did'nt you see the hollows in the grass where we had been down on bended knees since the day was fixed. Stik, sorry I missed my ride I must have been down at the clay pigeon shooting, and I did'nt hit any of them.

A Big Thank you to Bob, Mrs Bob, Wendy, Mr Wendy, Sue, Janet, the Barbeque Ladies, the Man In The Tower, and everyone else who helped to make it such a brilliant day.

I hope you made a decent amount for the hospice, and great to see many faces that I previously only knew as names.

Mrs Poet thoroughly enjoyed herself too!
