Licence Revalidation- query
There JARs are really annoying. Can some one clarify my position?
I've got an old style PPL Multi Instrument Rating, as such I do a IR retest each year and as part of that test, a revalidation of my PPL MEP, Do I still have to do a revalidation flight for SEP rating ??
Seems a bit pedantic to have to do one.
Cheers

Why do it if it's not fun?

I think you do, although I'd have to check to be sure. LASORS is the place to find the relevant rules.
However, I'd dispute it being "a bit pedantic". How often do you do a PFL in your MEPs? My guess would be never. So it makes sense for you to have to revalidate your SEP separately, even if it's only to make sure you keep up to speed with PFLs and nothing else.

If you have 12 hours SEP time (min 6 PIC) in the second 12 months of the 24 month validity of the SEP rating, then your IR/MEP LPC can count as the flight with an instructor for the SEP revalidation.
If you need an LPC for SEP revalidation, then it has to be done on an SE aircraft.
