Seems kinda silly given that I’m trying to gain access to one of the private forums and I’m not really interested in doing a lot of posting. But since I can’t send the PM required to access my airline’s forum…..here I am. Adding my official complaint.
Seems like a silly way to verify people. What if you came here to read and read specific things about your airline. It’s almost like forced participation. 🙄
So apparently they want to verify that you’re a real person my looking at your activity via posts. Then you can be allowed to PM people. Including the person who runs your EasyJet forum. I’m in the same boat (Southwest) and don’t live the policy but am hoping my patience will eventually be rewarded if I post a little and don’t break any rules.

Just post a few on a forum that you feel you can add to - doesn't have to be War & peace. And almost every poster is guilty of the occasional "WHENI" post.... "When I was a junior trainee in Persia..."
Once you have your magic 10 you can disappear into the the world of PM's

People forget that this is a privately owned forum and none of us have a free ticket or a divine right to join in.
Would anyone in their right mind, on hearing about a private party go and bang on the front door and demand to be let in right then because they think they know someone inside?

Depends on the party I'd say..................
but yes, there are a few rules and they can't be described as onerous in any form

Are we restricted from the entire messaging system (as in replying to someone who’s messaged you as well) or just from messaging someone else? If that makes sense 😅
Also whilst I’m here… how do I start a new thread? Is that restricted as well?

Yes. It's a methodology used to identify possible spammers/bots.
Posts from new entrants are manually reviewed before release into the wild, at which point possibly dubious users can be flagged or disabled. After a suitable apprenticeship you're released upon your own recognisance.
PPRuNe is remarkably free from spam so the system appears to be working well, with thanks to the moderators that man the station and wade through the queued posts.
