What is the inbox limit on pprune? Almost everyone that I try to inbox has a full inbox, but they can inbox me messages?

100 messages. To be fair mine is always in the 90s...

I think you get this report if you try to message someone who is still on their probationary period and is not allowed to participate in private messaging.

yeah - someone is trying to contact me and I can't see it nor can I clear out the 1 message that is in the box......

Likely you're in the probationary period and that's why. You'll need a few more (good relevant) posts.

Me too, told I'm allowed one message only, the orange bar is solid across, tick the "empty box" option ( or words to that effect) and it doesn't.

Not a new user.

Only 3 posts = new user as far as the system is concerned. Again, as above, make a few more useful community posts and the restriction will lift.

What it means if it requires the admin to approves the post? Does that count towards useful posting?

Until you have a posting history you don't have access to private messaging and adding urls.

Full mail box.....

.....at the top of my page it says re private messages "unread 0, total 1" followed by "your mail box is 100% full". Which means that no one can contact me and I know of a couple of people who have tried to contact me without success.
What do I have to do to empty my mail box?

Just guessing, but as a user with few posts, you may need to up that count a bit before things open up? (And some areas, for example Jet Blast, do not count for this)

You can clear clear it out if you move to trash but you'll lose the message thus making it impossible to reply

I’ve just set up my new pp account and I have no messages, but when I go to send a message it says my mailbox is too full? Apologies in advance for this being off the thread subject.

New users need ten posts in forums before they gain access to PMs. It is an anti spam restriction.
