Not Secure showing on one PPRuNe web page address
Hi, I was going to post on the "Voyager Plummets" thread on the Military Forum when I noticed that the usual https:// page address was preceded by a not secure warning. I warned the mods who could find nothing amiss, advising me to dump the cache and do a restart. The same warning persisted though (only on the current last page, P 49). I switched browsers, from Edge (my default) to Chrome. The warning was gone and everything appears normal. I have never encountered this before and worry that I may have a security problem on my PC (Windows 10 OS, Avast Antivirus), or is it a glitch with a work around? Grateful for any advice. Thanks.

Ah, thanks for that reassurance 42go. Is that on the Edge browser may I ask?

Educated guess - a non secure link somewhere within the thread. Your software doesn't work on anything that looks like a page - it scans the source code for it. Browsers often give the option for you to view it that way. Only useful if you want to check that we do encrypt personal information.

Stranger and stranger! My warning is limited to Edge only (don't have IE or Firefox). Could it be a conflict with our various and unique browser settings? I've asked on the page in question if anyone else has the same warning. Will report back if so.

I see it as well in Firefox - all it is is airsound's avatar being http rather than https.
Thanks for reporting it.

Thanks for the follow up SD, and for the reassuring explanation.

Is this page still showing as secure?
My only theory right now is that the Voyager page contains a little emoji in the subject of post #961. Sometimes those little icons register as "non-secure".

IBJ - see explanation in my post above. The photbucket URL in the avatar has been changed by admin to https, so all green on P49 now.
