As a general point about these sort of problems (I say general due DR UK's comment); with medical issues on board there often isn't a need to throw the aircraft on the ground ASAP at the nearest...

I'm really only guessing but you might be onto something with that last comment- in addition to the slide you've got to fit into the interior of the door structure all the moving cams/rollers/levers...
