Checking bags through
Hi - I am flying from Manchester to LHR on Saturday morning to connect to a Lufthansa flight to Munich at lunchtime. Please can anyone tell me whether I can check my bags right trhough to Munich from the BA desk at manchester.

Colleagues of mine who travel "from the sticks" to connect with long-haul at LHR seem to be able to, so I would expect you would have no problem, even though you are changing airlines.

You can through check bags providing you let the check-in agent at MAN know about your onward flight.
However, you are responsible for ensuring that there is sufficient time for the bags to be transferred. (Minimum 120 minutes for Domestic to Short Haul other airline). If there is insufficient time, (ie outside the Minimum Connection Time) then you will have to return to Munich airport to collect your bag(s) - the airline will not ferry them to your accommodation address!
