Anybody know the real reason for diverting to GLA last night. The punters were told "low visibility" and the aircraft wasn't suitably equipped.

CAT 1 aeroplane on a CAT 3 day I would guess.

Edinburgh are disabling the ILS on a nightly basis for maintenance at present so maybe this was the reason.

The 737 they were using was Cat 1, so they went to Glasgow and swapped to their night-stopping Stanstead plane. However, everybody else seemed to be getting in

The ILS 24 has been off the air for some time now. The pnly approach available is an LLZ/DME.
