China Airlines (CI)

We are considering using China Airlines (Taiwan) to visit Bangkok over Christmas and New Year 2003/04. Flights on all carriers are getting full even though only just available!

Routing would be LBA-AMS-BKK-AMS-LBA (Using KLM to get to/from Amsterdam) flight timings and routing is very convenient for us.

I know that China Airlines have a somewhat dubious safety record but the fare being offered by our agent is very good (£890 + taxes) for travel in CI business class (not the most spacious, but for the fare looks good). Alternative discounted Business Class fares ex MAN (AF, SR, OS - with very limited availability and not as convenient timings) are around £1500.

I'd appreciate any comments on CI on-board service and current safety record to help us make up our mind.

Thanks,

Nigel.
