Time for other people to start submitting new threads

If you look at the threads that have been started, and sustained, they've mostly been me. About post-war civil aviation British planes, but Fokkers as well. I'm running out of ideas, and post-war civil aviation planes that I have actually been flown in. Mr Mac provided a thread, which ran quite well, but it's time for other people to give us things to think about and talk about. What's your contribution?

I did that, and Mr Mac came up with a thread that ran and ran.

The mods like to see active fora, it gives them something to do. S.o.S. does, he's told me that he welcomed me starting threads. He actually turns up at PPRuNe bashes, but under an alias. So does Icarus_1, also under an alias.

Quality over quantity I accept, but fora that don't get read that often tend to decay, as PPRuNe Bashes does. People just don't bother checking it. So I need to PM people to remind them there is a Bash upcoming. I'd hate this sub-forum to be like that.

Attend a Bash? The very thought that I would lower myself to such depths ...

Yes, we do like to see conversations and they are more interesting to Mod than watching the luggage being thrown around.

Well....my excuse for doing very little of anything is the 6ft x 5ft window that is under 2ft away from my pooter, that is in full sun for most of the day and a thermometer telling me that it is 42 degrees in my top floor flat before 8am in the morning (and that is with thermal blinds closed and fans running like no tomorrow)......frankly that is my excuse and I am sticking to it......just as I am sticking to everything else at the moment

(It takes me an average of 2 hours to compile my Iran update.....taking a little longer currently)

Weatherman promised thunderstorms overnight. They were obviously cancelled, probably due to the weather being the wrong type of weather

Allegedly there will be a drop of at least 20 degrees by Monday and wet stuff falling.....I shall believe that when I see / feel it.

Given the site has been running for 2 decades its possible we have covered off every aspect of aviation, especially for pax.

After all most aircraft are identical these days and the market has forced airlines and airports into a high degree of uniformity across the globe.

Take Brisbane, I've flown thru it several times but can't remember a single feature. Its toally vanilla. Thar's good as a pax but a disapointment to any Total Aviation Person

I've flown into Brisbane exactly once, about two years ago. The ONLY detail I remember is that they unloaded half the plane via an airbridge to the front left door, and the rest of us via outdoor stairs at the rear left door. We drove home in a car we picked up in Brisbane, so I didn't even get a second look.

I haven't operated into Brisvegas but I've definitely pax'd through there. Operated into the Sunshine Coast airport to pick up a Twotter.

It was called Maroochydore then.

Given how many people have switched to other forms of social media I get the impression that Pprune is holding up pretty well, certainly compared with another IB forum I subscribe to, which is dying on its feet.

As for the mods I am sure some of us keep them fully occupied! 🤣

The hard part of starting a new thread is ensuring that the subject interests others, not just oneself - as I have found out!

Very true, I had a thread some years back that had loads of views, but no posts after 2 weeks and some Ozzie very kindly replied specifically so that I wouldn't feel bad :-) Very endearing of them, name now long forgotten.

We know who they are and the threads they haunt. Sometimes, I decided to have a late night check and then regret it ....
Before I stick my nose into AA&R, I'd better brew a cuppa.

Giving a new thread some due consideration.

I tend to keep my head low these days after being severly trolled some years ago, but I'll have a mull over & see about kicking off a discussion.
