Using Emirates Skywards Miles
I have just over 150,000 Skywards Miles. Whenever I try to use them, suddenly Business Class becomes unavailable for any of the dates I want to fly. Has anyone else experienced this?
There are some days available in May 2026. What's the Perth to Sydney via Adelaide journey like at that time of year weatherwise?

We have a considerable amount of air miles as well. I have found that EK have become tighter on their use and indeed from a friend their prices have escalated when paying cash ie they have become greedy.
I have used them as a personal use and many times as a company and they are not as good now as in the A330 days in early 20;so for me though the A380 is way better than the A330 in so many ways but cabin level food and to a degree service has declined.
Cheers

SQ are definitely the best I use on a regular basis and as you say it’s the one the ME4 try to emulate, but they still lead the pack for this SLF.

I long ago gave up trying to use Skywards miles for flights or upgrades. Nowadays on each trip to Dubai I just spend the miles from the previous trip in Dubai duty free. It’s not a great exchange rate but at least it avoids wasting them.

PS. The very best EK service was when they operated an A310 to Gatwick on their first European route in the 1990s. Think they’re still pretty good but obviously depends on the crew.
