BA learned a lesson
Flying YVR/LGW shortly and paid to pre book PE seats in 16j&K For operational reasons the flight has been changed from a 777-V1 to a 777-V2 which doesn't have a row 16.
BA allocated me 11F&G as an alternative but I wanted window and aisle seats, that is why I spent £209 to pre book them. Offered to change days when window seats were available and BA wanted a fee of over £1000 per passenger. To upgrade to C on the same day it was £3400. If you apply for a refund of the booking fee then you lose the seats they have now allocated which seems remarkably unfair!
Lesson here seems to be don't book row 16 on the 777 in PE out of LGW as that is the row that will disappear if there is a change of equipment.
Any solutions or advice appreciated..

I would suggest you ask BA to refund your seat booking fee and then check in online as early as possible and see if better seats are available. It probably won’t work but you don’t have much to lose.

Premium Economy and club or business if you want to call it that.
There are different versions of the Boeing 777 and they have different seat layouts.Hence V1 or V2....
I do not wind up easily

Oh, I thought you said "BA learned a lesson"!
"That'll be the day", I was thinking.
Go through the appeal channels offered, is all I can say. I eventually did get some compensation for two BA flights that caused us grief.
