I was booked on to this flight but got a text message advising of a delay. This resulted in a 8 hour delay at Changi during which I took full advantage of the complimentary lounge, including having two showers!
Once on board the captain apologised for the delay and mentioned being "out of hours". Does anyone know what caused the inbound crew to go out of hours?

Frankfurt has an 11pm curfew so maybe they had not gotten away on time and the delay would have meant the flight crew having insufficient hours to complete the flight. 8 hours is not too bad, my delay on Lh over xmas was 3 days

This delayed leg was part of a return trip to NZ routing MAN-FRA-SFO-AKL-SIN-FRA-MAN. A truly dreadful experience at the hands of LH only redeemed by the sterling efforts of UA in getting into AKL in the wake of cyclone Gabrielle.
