Crowded British Airports
The worrying issue of high concentrations of passengers in close proximity has arisen at LHR.
The same thing has been happening continuously at MAN since March 2020. In particular, I refer to the flights to and from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Qatar, and the two main destinations within the U.A.E, Distancing and separation of people arriving and departing is simply not possible within the antiquated structure of T1 at MAN. Narrow corridors abound, safe distancing is impossible.
The inherent safety risks apply to, Border Force, Baggage Handling and Passenger Service staff as well as to the passengers themselves, who often travel in large family groups. Most of the people travelling to and from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha are transit passengers originating from or heading to Pakistan, Bangladesh, and to a lesser degree India.
It is fair to say that health controls are not as rigorous or as well-managed in these heavily populated and relatively poor countries.
This post does not distinguish between religious or ethnic groups, which are varied in these places. But it does aim to draw attention to the anomaly of heavy passenger traffic and overcrowding in some British airports, which are in direct conflict with the requirements of the United Kingdom.
Are any measures being taken to minimise this problem? I am unaware of any. They would be wise to enact.

Is keeping one metre apart from other people so difficult to understand? If so don't hope any "authority" will give them a lifetime's education in a few minutes.
I see the same problem at the checkout of my nearby Lidl.

Let's take a B777-300. That equates to 300 pax. Let's assume 200 are travelling couples and 100 are travelling alone. That would require a line 200m long at the gate alone just for one departure. The bottom line is that at a major airport with dozens of departures from just one of the terminals it is simply unworkable. All that can be done is enforce the wearing of masks and that has its problems too with those who may be exempt for one reason or another.
The issue, would however be significantly reduced, if the money hungry airport authority had not decided to close half the terminals, thus cramming what flights are operating into a confined area!
