Outbound yesterday ABZ - CDG was delayed as CAA Inspectors were on the aircraft (HOP E170). What do they inspect?

Likely a ramp check. They happen all over. There doesn’t need to be a specific reason or a suspicion but it’s usuaoly just a check to ensure all documents are present and correct. Delays can happen and I’m sure one airline even had a delay code for ramp inspections.

All inspections I've ever had is pretty straight forward. Licences and medicals, all documents in place and in date, manuals (if applicable), flight plan, trim sheets and a perusal of the tech log. When I got ramp checked in Schipol, they even breath tested us.
Most of the time, the inspectors are just interested in the different from usual airline aircraft.
