JET Airways - any good?

JET Airways - any good?
My family are booked in NOV for a Tour of India with Newmarket Holidays and they are using JET from LHR-DEL then BOM-LHR
I see the reviews are truly appalling and the opinion is that JET are an airline to avoid.
Newmarket does offer a £450pp reduction if you ditch their air travel and you do your own flights.
I can get EK, Finnair, and QR for well under £400 (yes its via a stop on the way and change of aircraft) and the timings are quite good.
Anyone here have any experience of JET please?
thanks

Just done a tour the other way BOM-DEL,which included a short hop BOM Nagpur on a 737-800. Nice aircraft and crew, perfectly flown. I know it’s not long haul, but the BA flights both ways in WT+ were not great, Jet surely can’t be any worse.

Only flown in Prestige (or whatever it is called=business) LHR-BOM - service ok and the 777 in top order but five years ago - it was newer then. Quaint wine service - bottle and glass bought to my seat and poured in front but all very slow.
Domestic service is ok - 737-7/800. There are those who say Indian airlines are less safe- they may be marginally so but not so significantly that it would influence my decision.
I don't like stopping myself when the sector length is only 7.5 hours out - 9 hours back. If you travel jet Airways you will be with other Newmarket customers and if things go a bit Pete Tong that may be an advantage

Jet Airways finances aren't brilliant and November is a long time away, I'd go with one of the three airlines you mention for peace of mind even if it requires a connecting flight.

Jet airways, economy longhaul would be on the bottom of my selection list although their 777 business offering is actually an excellent product
As mentioned by krismiler,Jet have some problems. https://economictimes.indiatimes.com...w/67738503.cms

Thanks all for the replies - Seems New-market Hols will not permit changing the flights now (group tour) so have to grin and bear it - fingers crossed

I would go and have a chat to them about what contingency plans are in place should Jet Airways go broke, hopefully there is insurance coverage and you'll be rebooked on another airline. but I would want that in writing.
