Checked Baggage US
As part of a round the world trip the first US based leg (of 7 legs) is a Boston to Chicago sector and the Booking only have a 'Hand Baggage Only' option, (with United) , with no option to add checked baggage, just information of size and price
The 'helpline' say that I just show up at Boston airport and upon check in they will take and charge there and then for the hold cases
Is this correct?, What does the panel think

If your fare is a 'through fare' its baggage allowance should apply to all legs of the journey. If your fare is a combination of individual fares then your BOS-CHI sector could have a different baggage allowance.
Do you have any idea of the fare and/or who (which airline) issued the ticket(s)?
As step 1 I would go back to whomever you booked with and ask them.

The US airlines (e.g. United) now have a "Basic Economy" fare. Details here https://www.united.com/web/en-US/con...c-economy.aspx just in case that's what you have paid for.
