Emergency Landing..

I am a new member who is thankful to be alive today.

This past weekend, our chartered Challenger 300's cabin and cockpit filled with smoke during take-off. Unfortunately, the plane was too heavy to return back to our departure airport due to high fuel loads . By the grace of God, we were able to complete an emergency landing at SXM about 7 minutes later. My family is unsure as to what caused the fire/smoke as it remains under investigation. I think that sound of the oxygen mask compressors (at least I think that's what the sound was) will haunt me and my family until the end of time.

I'm so thankful to the skilled pilots that brought us back down safely!

My wife & children have never looked more beautiful.

Truly Blessed,

JPR

Welcome here, murphy258, that sounds like a terrible experience. I'm not sure why you are posting your story here but I hope you get a good explanation from the charter company.

Not sure if you're attributing the safe outcome to god or the pilots. I'd go with the latter.
As pilots, we tend not to rely on religion.

I thought they were one and the same

meanwhile might the original problem be condensation?

With as little info as given, the root cause might indeed be condensation - except perhaps if it were decondensation.

PS I fully subscribe the above remarks from both @Flyingmac and @lomapaseo regarding deities and pilots and their likenesses. I must however admit my experience of deities is much more limited.

PS where is @SXM? Sint Maarten, Dutch Caribbeens, ISTR? Airliners tend to aim for the numbers, there, witness many wwww videos; but for a Challenger the runway ought to be longish?
