EGPH Security

Anyone been through Edinburgh recently. I'm heading back to the old country for the next few months as a base for a new European initiative. This will entail regular domestic and short haul travel. Last time I was at EGPH monty python had reorganised security - not in a good way. If it's still crap I'll arrange to stay near Glasgow. Anyone have a view?

Security is much much better now! I think it's down to them sorting out their staffing issues. You shouldn't have a problem. When it works properly it literally takes 5 mins to get through.

There are very rarely problems now. Even at the peak times it takes no more than about 15 to get through, most of the time you'll be done in under 10.

Your having a larf egph

Ok, soi went with the Edinburgh option only to find that during the morning peak Edinburgh em security is still a complete shambles. It even makes T5 security arrangements look simple. However, I think the joke is on them 'cos I've yet to see anyone shopping in World of pain and anguish (duty free). I think they re afraid to step of the shiny black marble road. I think I can now see why Edinburgh has more delays than any other airport. Pax are lost in the system.
Since first posting my query I have been through EGPH 4 times, and used the train twice to get to London. Surprisingly, from centre to centre the train is almost as quick but more expensive!
