Abu Dhabi to Dubai
Anyone any tips on the best way to get from Abu Dhabi to Dubai?
Looking at a daytime transfer without time restraints.
I know you can just get a taxi but I'm thinking outside the box!

25AED buys a ticket on E101 bus/coach from AUH Central Bus Station to Ibn Battuta on outskirts of DXB, with an easy transfer onto the Metro.
Every 30 mins at peak times, nominal journey time 1.5h...
Or were you thinking even more 'outside the box' ? 'ZG

Bus - Emirates Express coaches are fast, cheap, free wi-fi, reclining seats but limited collection/stopping points. It is an express service.
Taxi - no comment.
Fly - I think there is a scheduled service from Basateen Executive airport in Abu Dhabi but maybe it goes to SHJ not DXB?
Helicopter - recent press reports about a whirlybird equivalent of Uber !!
EK or EY will both do courtesy coaches if you have an onward flight ticket.

Well if money is no object then I can heartily recommend getting into Dubai from Abu Dhabi via this mode of transport...........
https://www.getyourguide.co.uk/abu-d...-dubai-t27373/
.......when the atmosphere is still and devoid of dust the views are absolutely stunning. From AD to Dubai sit on the right hand side to get the views and the reverse if returning to AD.

I'm actually going to the cruise terminal at Port Rashid. Having a look on map it looks to be close to Jebel Ali which from memory is half way between Abu Dhabi town and Dubai centre.
Anyone know if the bus stops around this area which would enable a short taxi ride?
Thanks

what's the taxi fare from Abu Dhabi Airport to somewhere like Dubai Sports City?
Don't want to go all the way into town on the bus and then come out again.......

Thanks Colin - I always approach Dubai taxis with some trepidation as they seem to be driven by people who can't get a job working 18 hours a day on a building site - and you always have to direct them as they have zero knowledge of the place

If you take an official taxi at Abu Dhabi Airport, it will now be a big black Mercedes diesel powered 7 seater driven by a uniformed 'chauffeur' with a flat hat. Basically an upgraded 'van'. There is a surcharge but I can't remember what it is. The charge per km is also higher than a normal down town taxi cab.The normal size saloons and limousines at the airport are all gone - officially.......
If you are happy enough to accept the offer of an unlicensed ride, (and you will be approached if you hover around in the terminal near the ramp down to the taxi stands) it will be a lot cheaper but are you insured?

as someone who has had to use the GPS on my phone to get the taxi driver to where I wanted to go on a number of occasions I stand by my statement
'A number of occasions' is hardly the same as 'always have to'.
You get 'a number of occasions' from Uk drivers so again, your statement is garbage, as well as inaccurate.
