BA GATWICK B777s interiors
I fly about 5 times a year on this fleet and have no problem. Last week I came back from TPA on 4 class aircraft in WTand was immediately struck by how new the seating/.carpet looked and noticed that the screens were updated touch only with no controls in the arm rest. Is this fleet generally being updated or was this just a newish aircraft- anyone know?
Thanks
Thanks

Hi KLOS,
I suspect you were on G-VIIA. This was an ex-LGW 777 that was refurbished about 2 years ago with the Thales IFE system and became an LHR-based aircraft (all the GE 777s at LHR have Thales IFE now, along with the A380 and 787 fleets). It is currently covering a line of flying at LGW as G-VIIU is in maintenance at BAMC. Following IIU, LGW have a string of 4-class 777 D checks coming up so I suspect IIA will remain at LGW for a few more weeks. As soon as the scheduled maintenance is finished, you can bet that LHR will recall her!
Hope that helps.
