ATR42 question

I'm currently spending a fair bit of time flying around on ATR42's and noticed that the starboard prop stops quite quickly on shutdown compared to the port one which comes to a gentle slowdown and eventual stop.

Why is this ?

Ta !

The ATR42 uses the right engine as an APU (Auxillary Power Unit) to provide power to the aircraft during ground operations. To achieve this, there is a "Prop Brake" which effectively stops the propeller from spinning while leaving the engine running.

It's always interesting watching a Prop stop suddenly on the next bay.
