Flight UA23 from New York to Dublin

Sun 20/10/2013 shortly before 07.00 - A spokesperson for United Airlines said the plane encountered “severe turbulence” during its descent into Dublin, during which the seatbelt sign was illuminated. A number of passengers were treated for minor injuries.

757, carrying 129 customers and 8 crew

4. Don't drink for 24 hours before flying, to obviate the need to leave your seat for a pee at any time during the flight.

According to many doctors, you should drink enough fluid that your urine is clear. Not drinking liquids could prove worse than turbulence injury - with very long term results.
