I wonder why we need to pay USD40 for joining CX Marco Polo Club, I thought it was free of charge? Once I join, do I need to pay USD40 a year??

Interesting. Never been part of the M.P. but I recall a US carrier asking for an 'administration fee' to join their scheme in the late 80s. What goes around ...

Wizzair are doing it too - €27 odd - no loyalty points, but you do get 10% off flights - subject to the usual t's & c's - ie if flights already at lowest price, we don't discount anymore.

Wait for Ryanair to try this one out too.
