BA027 - 777 First Class

Hello,

I've just burnt some BA Miles to go over to HK. I had a companion voucher so we're going to fly out First Class.

I was surprised to see it is a 777 on this route now, and it doesn't appear to be the newer 777-300's. Have I wasted my air miles - the last 777-200 I flew on out to India was very old tatty, and badly in need to new IFE and seats. Will 1st Class be new or tatty on this service?

Not personally a user of this ervice, but a friend told me that New First is now guaranteed on the route - dunno.

But You First will, why not contact them?

My understanding is that BA27 remains a B747 operation until the end of the summer schedules (late October) then the B777 takes over, and that is the 777-300 planned for this service.

Many thanks. My account on BA.com does indeed show the 777 being used for my flight in late November. However the seating plan on BA.com matches the 777-200 4 Class, which prompted my question.

The last BA 777-200 I had the misfortune to fly on was pretty much the oldest on the fleet, and didn't even have IFE on-demand. If it's the same planes being used on the HK route I'll cancel my ticket and book on a service that at least has been modernised!

Just read your note and was playing around with a HKG booking for December,1st.
There are two flights that day. The BA 0025 @18.40 is a B747.
The BA 0027 @ 20.35 is a B777.
Ticket prices for First Class on either flight were £2,751 each way on a round trip ticket.
Hope that helps the conundrum.
