Interesting smuggling story

Read of an ingenious smuggler here in India. The guy was hiding contraband behind panels in the lavatories during the international leg of the flight. He then walked clean through the green channel unmolested but later booked a domestic ticket on a flight leg using the same aircraft (not sure how he knew the rosters).

A quick removal of contraband from behind those panels and he was free to walk away without any fear of a customs inspection.

TOI Article
Wonder if this has been tried before! Anyhow, the next time you see a dude walk out of the loo with arms full of shopping bags you know what's up!

PS. Are internal panels on a flight so easily pried off?

That method has been around for a while. Very common with drug smuggling.

More typical however, is that the cleaners remove the contraband.
