BA to Run "Concorde Experiences" from T5

British Airways today announced plans to turn around its reputation by giving passengers waiting for delayed flights at Terminal 5 a "Concorde Experience".

“We recognise many customers have stood by us over the past year, with ash clouds and uncertaintly over industrial action, and we want to do something to demonstrate our appreciation” said a spokesperson.

Dick King, Director of Strategy, has come up with a plan.

“We like to take our passengers for a ride, and this seemed like the ideal way of achieving that. From today, any of our Gold card passengers anticipating a delay of more than two hours at Terminal 5 is eligible for a free trip on Concorde.”

The venerable bird, which has been parked at LHR for over five years now, will be dusted off, and the hundreds of unread copies of High Life weighting down the plane will be removed.

“We can’t actually get the rocket flying again, but we hope to help delayed passengers forget their Heathrow Hassle with this extraordinary opportunity.”

Up to 100 British Airways passengers can be accommodated in the style icon, and given a taste of the glamour of flight in a simpler age.

Concorde will be pulled around the taxiways by a Fergie tractor, keeping the experiment truly British.

Passengers will be treated to vintage champagne and organic Dutchy Originals ice cream during their 20 minute “flight” before being returned to the sanctity of the T5 Concorde Room to wait out the rest of the delay.

“We really understand the impact our cabin crew trade union had on our customers. Even though they won’t actually be able to fly anywhere on Concorde, it will be the trip of a lifetime.

"Our customers appreciate more than just getting from A to B on time, with their own baggage, and this circuitous flight will be the icing on the cake of their British Airways experience.

"We hope this opportunity will be appreciated and go some way to saying thanks to our loyal customers.”

Tours will run for the summer season only, and can be booked via reception at the T5 Concorde Room, Galleries South.

More information on the fast plane can be seen below:
