Air Asia - Too old for exit row?

At checkin with Air Asia recently, my wife and I were told that we ( 54 & 56) were "too old" to sit in the exit rows ( which we had paid for) .. "we like to put young people there"... yeah, like the giggling 16 year old girl permanently attached to her ipod on the last flight. She'd be great in an emergency!

A civil exchange of ideas and philosophies ensued. We sat in the exit row! Wonder how old the Captain was? Do they shoot them at 55?
