Spain General Strike 29th September
Anyone travelling to Spain in general, Canaries in particular might be interested in local Tenerife paper headlines. The unions are saying that only 25% of normal air traffic can be expected to be operational on the strike day 29/09/10.
Other modes of transport will also be affected.

I’m surprised this one has passed without comment, probably everybody getting blasé – just another E.U. strike messing up the skies.
News reports have various figures but it seems 20% of E.U. flights will be permitted but whether they will be impromptu or planned I’ve no idea.
If they’re feeling really bolshie I suppose they could allocate the 20% to return legs thus ensuring no flights!

I guess we'll find out on Wednesday. I'm due to fly home from Tenerife on Friday 1st Oct but some Spaniards here due to fly home on the 29th (strike day) are leaving early.
