I flew this flight about 6 weeks ago. The departure time is 3.00am which is a terrible time at Brisbane. Almost nothing is open, the Emirates gate is at 75 - far from everything and they have the most efficient loudpeakers in the world - guaranteed to keep you awake! Unless you can get into the Emirates club, all the other clubs have closed (on a Sunday night at least). I am a Qantas Platinum member but they initially argued I could not use the Qantas Club although they changed their mind when I asked them to check the rules. The flight itself was a good flight. Departed pretty well on time, crew were pleasant and very efficient, food was good and lots of movie and entertainment choices. Flight was pretty empty so most people had no one alongside them. Worst part was the departure time...
Coming back, the flight was almost full. Again, it was on time, pleasant crew and enough food and drink. Again, only down side was the arrival time. Brisbane is worse than third world with its lack of facilities. Flight arrived just before 1.00am and literally nothing was open. Customs and baggage were efficient. Only way to get to the domestic airport is taxi or walk, so I walked. Nice walk at that time of the morning but no footpath - it is cross country a bit. Nothing open at the domestic but a surprising number of people already there trying to sleep. Security and the Qantas Club open at 4.00am so a good shower, a cup of coffee and some cereal was all good. Flight was also a lot cheaper than Qantas or any other carrier, hence why I chose them. Would do it again but perhaps adjust my own connecting flights to be a bit friendlier.
Cheers

Many thanks for your reply. I flew with Quaintass last month on the Singapore run. Good service on the way out, OK on the way home. I found that Emirayes where about half the price for my next run to Singapore. Business class on Quaintass was full both ways so I could not upgrade on points.
