Dear All,
Has anyone found any ways to get upgraded from cattle class to something a bit nicer when checking in?
Do any work for particular airlines?
Julian.

Let me ask you this, if you went to the theatre and paid for the
cheap seats in the stalls, would you then expect to sit
in the Royal box...
also a word of advice, never ask the crew to be upgraded,
it's unlikely it will happen, and we'll also be less likely to
go that extra mile because you had the nerve to ask !!!!

I remember how disappointed I was when BMA (now BMI) went to a two class operation. Today, I find that their C class service comes nowhere near that of their once excellent Diamond service of those single class days. Consequently I don't waste MY money flying C class with them.

Julian,
So you've saved like mad for that special flight, paying FOUR TIMES what you normally pay.
or
You've paid the money, flown the miles and EARNED an award up-grade, or award flight.
then
You find someone alongside you has got a FREE up-grade.

In the good old days....when based in Asia and before CX eliminated F class on many intra-Asian routes, we the self-important Diamond Card or Lifetime Members in the Marco Polo Club could count on getting upgraded about half the time from C to F class. This was a major motivation for accumulating the sectors on one carrier....
