Aer Lingus on line booking change

I've logged on to aerlingus.com with a view to changing my Orlando/DUB flight and I wanted to see what the extra charges might be.
However when I entered all the necessary info I got this response -

'This booking cannot be changed on aerlingus.com. To change your booking please contact our helpdesk.
You can use this facility to change your travel dates, time or destination. Please note any changes made here will apply to all passengers. If you wish to change some of the passengers only please contact our helpdesk'.

Contradiction what?
Is it any wonder EI is possibly heading into serious and unknown turbulance which might result they not being around for too long more?

I now have to phone EI - freephone number in the 'states' or pay to contact them on their Dublin 0818 number. Blooming frustration what?
