Anyone tried Monastir ???
Got "trapped" there once, for 7 hrs. Once past check-in we were literally locked into the "gate"with nowt but our fingernails to chew on.
Have worked in AMS and CDG.
Started at 14 stone..came home about a stone lighter..kept me bloody fit, at least!
Best airport( least irritating..etc etc)?? Orlando was pretty user-friendly. Still, when I'm travelling on my concessions, I'm very easily pleased !!

Yep I think the old Athens airport was the worst of any in a capital city in an allegedly 'developed' country!
I remember being stuck there after voluntarily offloading from a BA flight from Beirut. They sent me via Athens, firstly with MEA and then 'Cronus' Airlines.
It was August and the place was stiflingly hot, with that all pervading cigarette whiff that dominates every greek public place. The duty free was a newspaper stand and the aiport retaurant amounted to a transport cafe with stale ham rolls. To add insult to injury, I needed to find the BA agent, and a sign on the BA desk said "back at 2pm". This being Greece, the BA agent sauntered in, fag in hand at 2.35pm.........
Never again.

Least irritating? CWL (Cardiff) - I'm a regular with BA from CWL, and I have never yet beaten my bags to the reclaim hall. My record for an international flight, from touchdown to car park is twelve minutes. Bless em.
Most? Got to be CDG, the EuroToilet. How can anyone manage to make a building that is so much like a 1960s carpark? Makes you long for concrete cancer. Or possibly BRS - nice building, run by Bristolians, who couldn't run a whelk stand. Example - BA lounge, post immigration. Take off 1400. Checked in 1200 (well early) for a change. C class ticket, invite to lounge. NOT ALLOWED to go through security until 1345 due to "Lounge Congestion".... even though I wouldn't be using the departure lounge. The BA lounge was empty...
And, for the record, apart from "Corridor From Hell" - the only enclosed space in the world with a view that gets to vanishing point, I like BRU.

Most irritating - got to be Accra, Ghana. Where else would you have 2 flights, both full DC10's, one to JFK and one to LHR, checking in at 1 desk. MANUAL CHECK-IN TOO!! 500+ hot & sweaty bodies trying to get rid of bags. I'm sure I joined the queue on 17 different occasions. And immigration were a different class. Number of officers on duty decreases as the number of passengers increases. Logic learnt from the British Post Office I feel.

Have to agree about SIN. That place DOES take some beating. Been through the place several times on the way to Oz over the years. Only airport I've been in were you can get outside for some fresh air even when your in transit and the only place were they have ponds filled with large Koi Carp!! Mind you the walking Distances!!! <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

A bit of homework can ease some of the irritations. Did CDG for the first time recently and even with the homework the layout was illogical. However the AF bus was OK going into town and the RER was VG coming back.
My pet irritation has to be NRT in transit & trying to make a phone call. No Jap change & no local phone card = no phone access to advise my destination of flight changes. Even the KAL lounge ladies with a fistful of cards couldn't get a phone call to Korea last time there. And the Jap dial tone won't let my laptop work ( though others seem to be OK)
Least irritating airport has to be Koh Samui in Thailand. No air conditioning, but no windows either.
