Does Qatar have its own airline now? I thought they were one of the countries who "owned" Gulf Air? Is this new? Might be going out there occasioanlly this summer so I'm interested.

Qatar Airways founded 5 or 6 years ago with B727's. Have also operated B747's on the Hadj.They now AFAIK operate a fleet of A300's and A320's.

I jumpseated out of Kathmandu with them last year, very friendly airline with pretty good service.
