Feel sorry for the British

This article is translated from Czech by automatic software, so it is not a great translation. But it shows, how the British airports are being overactive in annoying people with extreme "security measures". I am already buying my tickets in such a way as to avoid London alltogether, if I can.

Europe moves to May next tightening controls at airports
Europe moves to further tighten controls at airports. At the end of April entry into force of Regulation 300/2008 of the European Parliament and the Council on common rules in the field of civil aviation security. Britain is already planning to be manually checked every third bag and every three passengers searched and will have to take off. Prague airport, major changes expected.

Rather that than fly with the underpants bomber!

For longevity, you might opt to fly from London.

There are obviously still far too many people who do not understand that it is not what you carry on board that present a danger, but what you intend to do with it.

The current reactive approach to security is a screw without end, and as long as the public allows itself to be frightened by the rhetoric of both media and governments, it will continue to be turned.

That in itself is evidence of a system that is not working.

As a fairly regular holiday flier, mostly long-haul, I have to say that I don't resent the security checks at all. O.k. it is a hold-up, but a very necessary one, or would the travelling public be happy with no security at all? it seems to me that security personnel are damned for doing their job, and damned if they don't do it well enough!! Is it really that bothersome to have to put up with a little hassle from time to time????. There are plenty worse things happening in the world than just a security queue!

I've never had cause to complain., or maybe I'm just not the complaining type, I guess.

Anyway, going to Sau Paulo, Brazil, shortly, followed by another internal flight shortly after arrival, so my somewhat benign temperament may be tested!!!!
