Question Emirates LHR to AKL, no more A340?

Hello, I just had a look online to get an idea of prices for a flight to Auckland in December. I noticed the website in question said that only 777s are in operation for those flights, when it used to be just the LHR to DXB leg. I much prefer their A340 J class for the long haul. Have Emirates stopped the A345 for that trip now? Thanks.

Hi Cottonfoo,

Yes, it's due to a rearrangement of the aircraft on the routes. Presumably the bean counters can make another bean or two by doing it.

Regards,

Have just done LGW DXB SYD and return. The DXB SYD went onto AKL and is an A380. The 777 is used for the LGW DXB leg.

There may very well have been pax appeal for the 777 over the A345.

The 777 J seat is generally better than the A345's. The A380 though is in a league of its own with superb cabin layout and well used bar area.
