Bit of a mess in IAD tonight with cancellation of VS22 and a very poor advertisment for the Virgin brand as ground staff made a complete mess of handling the stranded pax. It would be logical to expect that contingency plans would be in place for a cancelled flight. That seemed not to be the case for the UK's alternative flag carrier this evening. I'm a big fan of VS but the performance tonight left much to be desired and was not a good advertisement for the bearded one, or his team. At time of writing, the Virgin website still shows the flight as arriving into LHR on schedule, even though passengers and crew are now tucking themselves into bed in local hotels. Brickbats all around, I'm afraid
