Gulf Air / AA Codeshare Agreement???

What happened to the Codehsare agreement between Gulf Air and AA?? I tried to book my usual BAH-LHR-ORD flight and AA would only route me via BA. Checked their website and they say "Due to a regulatory change by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, American Airlines has suspended its codeshare on flights operated by Gulf Air until further notice."

Anybody with some information out there??

Not heard anything concrete about the cancellation of the AA codeshare agreement although Etihad now have a similar agreement with AA and launched their ORD flights yesterday so maybe via AUH is your best bet.
