Border agency

I may be travelling with my wife and stepdaughter to the states from Thailand(they are both Thai). On checking the Border agency site I see They both need a "Direct airside visa" at 46 pounds each just to transit the UK!!!The category above this was for Turkish nationals setting up a business in the UK and they get in for free!!!Has anyone had dealings with this agency ?A visa application for my wie and daughter to visit the UK has some thirty odd pages!!What a load of nonsense.Any comments?Yes I will ask my company not to route me through England!!!!!

According to
Visa and Direct Airside Transit Visa (DATV) nationals,
a Direct Airside Transit Visa is not required for nationals of Thailand. Moreover, holders of a valid visa for entry to the USA are exempt (on a journey to/from the USA).
