Extra Govt Charges

Could somebody please explain what you get for "GOVERNMENT SECURITY CHARGES" that are extras added on to your fares from Manchester Airport. beside being conned out of approx £33 per (single)

It'll be things like a charge for security and baggage screening. Plus, if not mentioned elsewhere, it may include an insurance charge, APD, a charge levvied by the airport for using it's facilities/departure tax etc etc etc...

Every airline seems to quote a different amount for "taxes, fees and charges", even on the same route. The only thing that matters is the final price, and if you're happy with that then it is irrelevant how the fare is broken down.
